Flere og flere ugifte par går Caminoen og afslutter med bryllup i Katedralen i Santiago.
I Katedralen i Santiago bliver der - ikke dagligt, men nu mange gange årligt - foretaget vielse af et netop ankommet pilgrimspar, der har begyndt livet sammen med at tage rygsækken på og gå til Santiago for at blive gift, og det gælder ikke alene spaniere, men også mange andre nationaliteter. Dern stigende efterspørgsel har fået Katedralen til at lave en "brugsanvisning" på hjemmesiden på spansk, tysk, fransk, italiensk og engelsk. Her under gengives den engelske tekst:

Any flowers, music and so on must be arranged by those organising the marriage. Making a donation for using the Corticela is appropriate.
Essential documents
The following documents must be presented at least one month in advance of the marriage:
•Certificate of Matrimony, also known as a Letter of Freedom issued by the home Parish of those to be married. This must be certified by the local Parish and sent to the Office of the Archbishop of Santiago de Compostela to be certified. The document will then be sent to the Parish of the Corticela.
•Baptismal Certificates – certified copies for those who are to be married.
•Birth Certificates – certified copies issued by the civil authorities.
•Legal status of the couple – certified.
•Any relevant statements.
To be submitted after the marriage:
•The Marriage Document to register the marriage with the civil authorities.
•A letter to be registered in the Parish of origin.
